I’ll admit that video ads look cool. But, I don’t care about looking cool. I want sales. And so far, video ads haven’t brought in many sales. If I had to depend on them to feed my kids, my kids would probably go hungry most of the time.
Because… they’re not efficient at bringing in sales. So, here are 4 reasons I don’t waste time creating video ads.
Reason #1. Video ads burn out super fast.
Every time I create a new video ad, it works great for a week and then completely dies out. Meanwhile, a boring image/text can last for months and months and sometimes even years.
For example, my best image/text ad brought in over $50,000 in revenue last month. And, it’s been running strong for over 5 years – and has brought in over $2 Million in Revenue. Show me a video ad that has done that.
Reason #2. I gave video ads my “best shot”, and they failed.
Here’s what happened. I helped create an amazing Harmon Brothers style video ad and it burned out in less than a week. Even worse the talking head video ad converted better than the crazy Harmon Brothers style video. 🤯
Reason #3. Money loves speed.
I can create an image/text ad in an hour and it doesn’t require anyone else’s help.
✅ No script to prepare and get the client’s approval on.
✅ No client to round up.
✅ No videographer.
✅ No complicated video editing or software.
A video ad takes a minimum of 4 hours of my time.
Reason #4. Video ads are hard to tweak or improve.
If you want to improve a video ad, you either have to reshoot the video or get it edited. Ugh. If I want to tweak an image/text ad, it takes less than 5 minutes. I can find a new image or change a CTA (Call to Action) or Headline in 5 minutes with a text ad.
So, that’s why I’m focusing my time on image/text ads.
